How many guests does Kultahelmi accommodate?
Kultahelmi adapts easily to groups of every size — from a small family to a large celebration party. At full capacity for 12 guests, you have 3 bedrooms plus a loft, but the villa is designed so that a family of 4–5, or a couple staying alone, feels just as comfortably spacious — with a smaller group there's no need to use the loft for sleeping at all, so the atmosphere stays cozy rather than cramped or cold.
Does Kultahelmi also suit a smaller group or a couple?
Yes, extremely well. A family of 4–5, for example, stays comfortably spacious, and couples or friend couples each get their own bedroom with a double bed and real privacy. Unlike many cottages where space built for a large capacity can feel empty and cold with a smaller group, that doesn't happen at Kultahelmi — with a smaller party the loft, for instance, simply isn't used at all, so the space stays cozy and roomy regardless of group size.

In addition, Rödsön Poro-Pirtti offers reindeer programs year-round, about a 45-minute drive away (58 km) towards Kokkola — in July the program also includes morning coffee in the company of reindeer. Poro-Pirtti is an easy stop on the way to or from Kokkola's airport or train connections.
What other excursions and activities are available in the Kalajoki area?
In winter, Kalajoki offers hovercraft rides out onto the sea ice, along with snowmobile and ATV safaris, plus sledding hills for children and adults. The ship carries 36 passengers, and bookings over 30 seats are always private charters of the whole ship, for example for celebrations or corporate events. Bookings: plassi.fi. Tip for corporate groups: combine the cruise with your stay — book the Ansio cruise and Kultahelmi for the same trip, so you can head straight from the cruise to relax in the sauna and hot tub.
Do you need to travel to Lapland to experience a husky or reindeer safari, snowmobiling, or other winter activities?
Not necessarily. Kultahelmi sits right in the middle of all of this on Kalajoki's Hiekkasärkät, and the journey is considerably shorter than to Lapland — for example, just about 130 km from Oulu airport.
